Reawaken Your Heart

This Beltane in Ireland

Saturday, April 27th - Friday, May 3rd, 2024

Together, we will prepare ourselves to celebrate Beltane, also known as May Day. Beltane is a celebration of the sun and the earth’s blessings coming together, a time to revel in the warmth of the sunshine as well as the growth, vitality, and fertility that the peak of spring and beginning of summer promises.

Dear Fellow Heart,

This photo captures my excitement to be leading this retreat in Ireland alongside the magical mists of sun, clouds, and rain that make green hills and rainbows an emerald reality.

One thing I love about studying the heart is its capacity to hold our human experiences with compassion. With each lived experience, there is an opportunity to bring love to each part of ourselves and each other. We do our best. And we often do better when we are able to better emotionally regulate ourselves.

We’ve heard the saying many times, “Follow Your Heart.” The question here is: how are we living it? In the midst of accelerated personal and collective change, what is our relationship to our own heart’s desires and grief? I’ve found that the energies of urgency and overwhelm override many people’s ability to slow down enough to listen to the voice of their own heart.

I’ve found that there are a few things that support us to reconnect with our hearts, all of which will be offered on this retreat. They are:

+ Reconnecting with the love and life force of nature

+ Activities that bring you into embodied presence

+ Sharing circles to tend to each individual heart and the communal heart

+ Being nourished with delicious food and warm hospitality

+ Rituals that weave your soul’s expression into the present moment

The intention for every retreat is to appreciate the opportunity to immerse oneself fully in the retreat experience and also receive clear ways to integrate that experience when you return home.

This retreat is designed to prepare ourselves to awaken our heart fire. Together, we will prepare ourselves for our ritual bonfire on Beltane. This holiday is known to the Irish as Lá Bealtaine, which translates roughly to “bright fire.” As we stand before the dancing flames on this ceremonial day that honors turning the wheel of time, we will offer our most sincere prayers that our own hearts, our own essence, may also dance and burn brightly.

Is your heart calling you on this journey? If so, I invite you to explore if this is a good time in your life to gather together to share our hearts in circle, dance, reconnect to nature, pray, and listen deeply to the wise, loving voice within.

With love,

Rochelle Schieck is the founder of Qoya Inspired Movement. Since its inception in 2009, she has trained hundreds of Qoya Inspired Movement teachers, taught thousands of Qoya Inspired Movement classes, and nearly 100 retreats in the most sacred places on earth with one intention in mind: to remember, and to help others do the same.

Qoya Inspired Movement is designed to feel how the body and movement are a portal to remember our essence, to feel our perspective shift from going through the motions to savoring life as sacred. Qoya Inspired Movement does this through classes, workshops, rituals, retreats/pilgrimages, teacher trainings, free videos online, a blog, and Rochelle’s book, Qoya: A Compass for Navigating an Embodied Life that is Wise, Wild and Free in hopes that all that feel the call to remember can be supported on their journey.

There are no levels to Qoya Inspired Movement, and it is a movement that people of any age or ability level can do. It has been featured in outlets like New York Magazine,, The Telegraph, and Psychology Today.

May I have the courage today
To live the life that I would love,
To postpone my dream no longer
But do at last what I came here for
And waste my heart on fear no more.
